Graduated in Veterinary Medicine from Universidade Estadual Paulista-UNESP-campus of Botucatu (1989), residency in Large Animal Surgery-UNESP-Botucatu (1990/92), master and doctorate programme in Veterinary Surgery from University of São Paulo (1995 and 1998), postdoctoral programme at the Colorado State University (2003) and Full Professor at FMVZ-USP (2004). Served as vice-Director (2003-07) and Director (2007-11) of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, and as Vice-Chief (2012-16) and Chief (2016-18; 2019-2020) of the Department of Surgery. Served as a member of the National Committee for Residency in Veterinary Medicine-CNRMV / CFMV (until 2014) and of the Technical Chamber of Animal and Environmental Health of CNRMS / MEC. Currently is a Head Prof. of the Department of Surgery at FMVZ / USP, responsible for the Service of Large Animal Surgery at HOVET-FMVZ / USP, coordinator of the Residency Program in the area of #8203;#8203;Clinic and Surgery of Large Animals, professor of the Postgraduate Program in Surgical Clinic Veterinary of the Department of Surgery and President of the Committee on Culture and Extension of FMVZ / USP. He has experience in the area of #8203;#8203;Veterinary Medicine, with an emphasis on Large Animal Surgery, working mainly on the following research topics: equine surgery, endoscopy and videosurgery.
