Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Instituto de Biociências (IB)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

Post doc at the Dept. of Ecology and Evolution at Universitè Libre de Bruxelles - Belgium. Natalia Araujo (NA) has technical training in Chemistry (ETEC GV, 2007), a BSc degree (UNIP, 2009), a MSc degree and PhD degree (Genetics Department and Evolutionary Biology - USP, 2012 - Masters; 2018 - PhD). NA began her career in research during her under graduation studies working on environmental biomarkers in fishes (UNIP / USP, 2008-2010) with a CNPq fellowship. During her masters (USP 2010-2012), NA worked in the field of insect population genetics through the study of the complex of cryptic species Anastrepha fraterculus. In her PhD studies, NA studied the molecular evolution of social behaviour in bees with different levels of sociality using RNA-Seq, Bisulfite-Seq and bioinformatics analyses (FAPESP grant). NA spend one year (2014-2015) in England (Queen Mary University of London) under the supervision of Dr Yannick Wurm as part of her PhD with a BEPE-FAPESP fellowship. During this period she expanded her knowledge about new generation sequencing techniques, statistics and data analyses. Currently, in her third post-doc at University of Brussels, NA uses bioinformatics to understand the genomics of queens development in Melipona bees. For more, see www.natevolution.com.
