Graduated in Medicine at Escola Paulista de Medicina - Federal University of São Paulo (Unifesp) in 1982. Masters (1988) and PhD (1993) in Pediatrics at Unifesp, and ?Livre-Docência? in Pediatrics (2003) also by Unifesp. Mentorship in the Pediatrics PhD Program at Unifesp since 1997. Brazilian board certified in Pediatrics in 1985 and in Neonatology - both titles granted by the Brazilian Society of Pediatrics. Since 2007, it is the Full Professor of the Division of Neonatal Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, Escola Paulista de Medicina - Unifesp and the Coordinator of the of the Neonatal ICU of Hospital São Paulo University Hospital of Escola Paulista de Medicina/Unifesp. Co-Chair of the Neonatal Resuscitation Program of the Brazilian Society of Pediatrics since 2011. Scientific Co-Chair of the Brazilian Network on Neonatal Research since 2016. Chief Editor of Revista Paulista de Pediatria, scientific journal of the São Paulo Pediatric Society,.Associate Editor of BMC Pediatrics since . Member of the Neonatal Task Force of the International Liaison Committee on Neonatal Resuscitation (ILCOR) since 2005. She has been advising several national and international journals in the process of peer-review and has contributed to FAPESP in evaluation of the quality of research projects with funding requests. Experience in the Neonatology, with the main interests on neonatal pain, neonatal morbidity and mortality, with emphasis on the resuscitation of the newborn in the delivery room.
