Has extensive experience in clinical and translational research with emphasis on infectious diseases and antimicrobials. Participates in research on the following subjects: epidemiology of bacterial resistance, antimicrobials, surveillance systems, pharmacodynamics, resistance mechanisms, methods and models for analysis of resistance. Medical doctor graduated by Universidade Federal Fluminense (1991), with medical residency at Instituto de Infectologia Emílio Ribas, PhD in infectious and parasitic diseases from the University of São Paulo (2002) and postdoc in infectious and parasitic diseases by Universidade Federal de São Paulo (2011).
