Biomedical graduate from the Paulista School of Medicine (UNIFESP), Master in Molecular Biology (Biochemistry) from the Federal University of São Paulo (1997) and Doctor of Science (Biochemistry) from the Federal University of São Paulo (2001). Post-Doctorate at the Butantan Institute and Atheris Laboratoires (Geneva). He is currently a scientific researcher (PqC-VI) of the Butantan Institute. Professor and Advisor in the Post-Graduation Program in Toxinology of the Butantan Institute and also in the Graduate Program in Tropical Diseases of Botucatu Medical School (UNESP). He has experience in the field of Biochemistry, with emphasis on the isolation and characterization of molecules with relevant biological activity from animal poisons and secretions, mainly amphibians and marine organisms, using approaches that involve liquid chromatography and Mass spectrometry (including proteomics ), with a particular focus on peptides and proteins, as well as low molecular weight toxins. Collaborator in research lines in Organic Chemistry, Leishmaniasis, Food Biochemistry, Microbiology, Enzymology, Metabolomics and in the development of sera (antivenoms).
