Graduated in Physiotherapy from Universidade Metodista de Piracicaba (1998), Ph.D. in Science (Experimental Pathophysiology) from Universidade de São Paulo (2005) and post-doctorate in Pulmonary Pathophysiology at FMUSP (2008). In 2008, she joined as adjunct professor at the Federal University of São Paulo, Dept of Biological Sciences, Campus Diadema, where she worked until 2015. Now she is currently Associate Professor III at the Dept of Biosciences, Institute of Health and Society, Baixada Santista Campus of the Federal University from São Paulo where she coordinates the Laboratory for Studies in Pulmonary Inflammation. She also works as a collaborating researcher at the Experimental Therapeutics Laboratory I of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo. She has expertise in the field of pathophysiology and pulmonary histopathology, acting on the following topics: inflammatory mediators, experimental models of lung inflammation, bronchial asthma, pulmonary emphysema, acute lung injury, lung remodeling, anti-inflammatory cholinergic system and effects of phytochemical compounds in lung diseases. She was coordinator of the Graduate Program in Chemical Biology from 2012 to 2015. She is a collaborating advisor of the Medical Sciences Program in the area of inflammatory and allergic processes at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo and permanent advisor in the Interdisciplinary Science Program of Unifesp Health, Baixada Santista Campus.
