Dr. Edwin Tamashiro obtained his MD and PhD degree from the Ribeirão Preto Medical School and completed his training in Otorhinolaryngology at the Clinics Hospital of the Ribeirão Preto Medical School. He completed his research fellowship at the Division of Rhinology of the University of Pennsylvania (2007-2008, under the supervision of Dr. James Palmer and Dr. Noam Cohen) followed by a post-doctoral fellowship at the Department of Microbiology in 2014 (Dr. Jeffrey Weiser). Currently is appointed as an Associate Professor at the Department of Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at the Ribeirão Preto Medical School, University of Sao Paulo. Currently, he is the director of the Division of Otorhinolaryngology of the Ribeirão Preto Medical School, University of Sao Paulo. His focuses on research lies on infectious and inflammatory disorders of the upper respiratory airways. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
