Associate Professor in the Department of Translational Medicine, Area of Medical Genetics and Genomic Medicine, at School of Medical Sciences (SMS) - UNICAMP. She is currently Advisor to the Dean of Graduate Studies at Unicamp. She was the Coordinator of the Graduate Studies at SMS (committee with 15 Graduate Programs) from July 2018 to April 2023. She was the Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Medical Sciences from Jan. 2017 to Jun. 2018 and April 2021 to April 2023. She has expertise in Human and Medical Genetics and Neuroscience, working mainly in Neurogenetics and Molecular Genetics. She has a degree in Physiotherapy (1988), Master's Degree in Functional and Molecular Biology - concentration area: Neurophysiology from the State University of Campinas (2002) and Doctorate in Medical Pathophysiology - concentration area: Neuroscience, from the State University of Campinas (2006). Her postdoctorate was in Neurogenetics (2006-2009). She has expertise in genetic mapping, mutation screening, gene expression, microRNA expression and genotyping. Established and coordinates the Zebrafish Laboratory at SMS/UNICAMP, which is focused on the investigation of epileptic seizures on behavior, molecular and cellular changes in the brain, in addition to the identification of therapeutic compounds for epileptic seizures. She is an associate researcher at the Brazilian Institute for Neuroscience and Neurotechnology-BRAINN, CEPID / FAPESP. She regularly advises undergraduate and graduate students in scientific projects, as well as, integrate scientific research projects with national and international collaborations. She provides services to the community at the Neurogenetics and Motricity Rehabilitation clinics in the hospital at Unicamp. Member of the Unicamp University Council (July 2021-June 2023).
