He is graduate at Chemistry from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (1992), master's at Chemistry from Instituto Militar de Engenharia (1995) and Ph.D. at Chemistry from Universidade de São Paulo (2000), besides 2 postdoctoral stages - Universidade de São Paulo and Barcelona Biomedical Research Park - Spain (2010). Currently, is Associate Professor 3 at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo - FCFRP / USP, since 2007, where he teaches 3 courses of Graduation and 2 of Post-Graduate. In research, works in the area of Medicinal Chemistry, with emphasis on molecular modeling and QSAR in drug design, including additional enzymatic activity assays with ligands of different therapeutic targets, particularly in cancer, Alzheimer's disease, leishmaniosis and inflammatory diseases. He is coordinator of a current project of medicinal Chemistry in Leishmaniosis and Chagas´disease. He was Director and Vice-Director of two International projects funded by FAPESP and CNPq, as welll as one of the principal investigators (PI) of International project in collaboration with the Nottingham University (PROGRAMA CAPES/UNIVERSIDADE DE NOTTINGHAM - SELEÇÃO DE PROJETOS ESPECIAIS DE PESQUISA EM DRUG DISCOVERY). He is also one of the investigators of the Center for Research in Inflammatory Diseases -CRID, FAPESP, as well as of the Medicinal Chemistry Open Acess, SGC-UNICAMP (The Structural Genomics Consortium), and associate researcher of a current FAPESP project in phytopathology. With the private sector, it has established and maintains a University-Company partnership, in the form of scientific advice to assess the toxicological potential of compounds of agrochemical interest, through QSAR (Quantitative Structure-Activity Relationships) and QSTR (Quantitative Structure-Toxicity Relationships) studies. He has 2 patent and 223 publications, including 175 papers and 44 chapters of Medicinal Chemistry and related, as well as he is Editor/coeditor of 4 international books in the field of Medicinal Chemistry.
