I majored in Biological Sciences in 1993, got a Masters in Ecology in 1999 and a Ph D in Ecology in 2004, both at Universidade de São Paulo. Had funds from Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP) to establish a lab in the Departamento de Zoologia of the Instituto de Biociência, of the Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP), in Rio Claro (SP, Brasil), from 2006 to 2010. In February 2011 I got a position as professor and scientist (Marine Mammal Lab) in the Instituto Oceanografico - Universidade de Sao Paulo. From 1997 to 2023, I published 87 manuscripts.
