She was a visiting professor at the University of British Columbia, Dept Earth and Ocean Sciences (Canada) from 2008-2009. Graduated in Biological Sciences (UFSCar); Master in Ecology and Natural Resources (1990) from UFSCar and Dalhousie University, Oceanography Dept (Canada - WUSC fellow). PhD in Chemistry (UNICAMP, 1995) and Istituto di Biofisica (Italy - CNPq scholarship holder). Specialization at The University of Leeds (England, 1990-1991). Post-doctoral fellow at the Phycology Laboratory (UFSCar) and Young Researcher (FAPESP) at the Biohydrometallurgy Laboratory, UNESP (Araraquara, SP). Areas of expertise: Microalgae Ecophysiology and Environmental Chemistry under specific topics: interaction of metals and nanoparticles with microalgae (ecotoxicology); microalgae ecophysiology and prospection (production of biomolecules; photochemistry of photosynthesis; CO2 fixation; use of residues for microalgae cultivation); algal cultures; speciation of metals in natural and artificial systems. Reviewer of articles for national and international scientific journals; supervises masters and PhD at UFSCar (PPGERN; PPGBIOTEC). Member of the Editorial Board of the Brazilian Journal of Botany.
