He received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from State University of São Paulo (UNESP), Brazil, in 1994, and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of São Paulo (USP) at São Carlos, Brazil, respectively in 1999 and 2003. Since 2004 he is Associate Professor at the Department of Computing and Mathematics, FFCLRP, USP, Ribeirão Preto, Brazil.
