She holds a degree in Biology (1992) and a PhD in Biological Sciences (1996) from the University of Buenos Aires. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Molecular Phytopathology at the University of California, Davis (1997-1998) and another in sugarcane genomics at the University of São Paulo (1999-2004). In 2005, she joined the Department of Botany of the Institute of Biosciences of the University of São Paulo as an Assistant Professor and has been an Associate Professor since 2015. Using approaches from Functional Genomics and Molecular Physiology, the group works to understand and manipulate plant metabolism in order to improve productivity and nutritional quality using Solanum lycopersicum as a model species.
