Graduated in Biological Sciences at the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1988), obtained her master's in Neuroscience and Behavior at the Universidade de São Paulo (1995) and her PhD (Department of Psychobiology) and Post-doctorate (Department of Neurology) at the Universidade Federal de São Paulo - UNIFESP. She is currently in a tenured position in the field of Human Cognition a the Department of Psychobiology, UNIFESP. Her original area of expertise was Psychopharmacology and adaptation of cognitive tests/scales for use in Brazil. Today, she has expanded her interests and conducts research mostly on healthy human cognition and correlated physiological markers, investigating mainly memory, executive functions, sleep and other behaviours. She has been a member of the Ethics Commitee at UNIFESP since 2011 and became a member of the Brazilian National Network of Science for Education in 2018.
