Full Professor at the University of São Paulo (USP). He holds a degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the Federal University of Ouro Preto (1988), a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP, 1991), a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP, 1997) conducted at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (USA) between 08/1994 and 09/1996. He holds a postdoctoral degree from the Technische Universitat Wien (Vienna, Austria). Professor of the School of Engineering of São Carlos, USP. He held a senior internship at ONERA (Le center français de recherche aérospatiale), working on the development of niobium alloys for aeronautical turbines. He is currently Professor at the Lorena School of Engineering at the University of São Paulo (USP). He has experience in Materials Engineering and Metallurgy, with emphasis on Phase Transformation, working mainly on the following topics: phase diagram, intermetallics, refractory metal alloys (Nb, Ta, Mo, W, Re), solidification, superalloys.
