Birthplace: Brazil

Sc.D. from Federal University of São Paulo, PhD from the University of São Paulo (1994), was ryugasei during the doctor course at Nara University of Education and Visitante Professor at Paris Lodron University of Salzburg (2024). She is currently a research professor at the Federal University of Sao Paulo, Santos. Initiated the research area in Optically Stimulated Luminescence (OSL) in Brazil, in 1995, dating sediments from Amazon river and its tributaries. She has experience in OSL and thermoluminescence (TL) of crystals applied to geochronology and environmental dosimetry. The research main lines are: 1) Interdisciplinary studies with geoscientists in the field of paleoenvironmental changes that occur during the Quaternary 2) improving the methodology of dating (marine terraces, aeolian, colluvium, fluvial sediments, archeological soil, etc ... by luminescence of crystals, 3) Implementation of a single grains dating methodology 4) studies of point defects and their kinetics in the luminescence emission and 5) synthesis and morphological characterization and luminescence of crystalline ceramic composites nanoestuturados for dosimetry of ionizing radiation.
