I am a biologist interested in Conservation Genomics, Evolutionary Biology and Population Genetics. I received my PhD in Sciences; Genetics and Evolution in 2003 and since 2010, I have been an Associate Professor at Federal University of São Carlos (São Paulo, Brazil), where I co-leading the Laboratory of Molecular Biodiversity and Conservation. Currently, my research projects focuses on genomics and genetics data. Using NGS technologies and computational tools, my goals are to produce useful data to implement scientific basis for conservation-integrated programs for management of the biodiversity. Genomics and genetics data gets wide perspectives for identifying genes and polymorphisms linked to fitness. The knowledge of population genetic variation and the existence of differential selection signs associated with diverse adaptation mechanisms can prompt a more appropriated management of wild and captive individuals. In addition to the important conservation issues, genomic data can address some important questions about biology and evolution. Since 01/09/2004 I am a mother. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
