Graduated in Nutrition from Universidade do Sagrado Coração (1983), Masters in Food and Nutrition from Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1993) and Ph.D. in Food Sciences from Universidade de São Paulo (1997). He is currently a professor at the São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP) at the Botucatu Institute of Biosciences. She advises on the Postgraduate Programs in Food and Nutrition at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences-Campus de Araraquara, concentration area in Nutritional Sciences and the Postgraduate Program in Nursing (Health Care and Systems Management). She is a guest professor at the ?Maestría en Politica Públicas Alimentarias y Nutricionales?-Universidad de Antioquia (Colombia) and at the Maestría en Nutrición y Dietética at the University of Cuenca (Ecuador). She coordinates the Post-Graduation Latu-Sensu / double degree (UNESP / UNIZAMBEZE) in Sovereignty and Food and Nutritional Security. Coordinator of the Center for Science and Technology in Sovereignty and Food and Nutritional Security at UNESP (INTERSSAN). She participates in the advisory group to the MCTI / RNP for the development of the Platform for Knowledge Management in Food and Nutritional Sovereignty and Security (PLAGESSAN). She is a founding member of the SANS Network: Network for the defense and promotion of healthy, adequate and food solidary and of the Latin American Network for Food and Nutritional Sovereignty and Security (Lassan Network). She is a member for Brazil on the Mechanism for Facilitating the Participation of Universities in the Council for Food and Nutritional Security of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (MU-CONSAN). She works mainly on the following topics: Public Policies on Food and Nutritional Security, Nutrition in Obesity, Education and training processes in Nutrition and Food and Nutritional Security.
