Maria Jose S. Mendes Giannini is a Ph.D. at Microbiology from Universidade de São Paulo. She developed activity in the mycology laboratory of the Medical School of USP from 1977-82. Since 1983 she is a professor of UNESP and currently Researcher of CNPq 1B. She was a Supervisor of the Community Assistance Center, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Araraquara - UNESP, in 1991-92. She was vice- director of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences UNESP and coordinator of the Graduate Program in Bioscience and Biotechnology Applied to Pharmacy (Clinical Analysis). Editor of the Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences - UNESP. Co-editor of the Journal of Basic and Applied Pharmaceutical Sciences, from 2005. Member of the editorial board of the Journal: Brazilian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Journal of the Institute Adolfo Lutz. Member of the Committee responsible for the Plan of Institutional Development of UNESP. She was adviser to the Board of Education and Research (CEPE) and Graduate Studies (PROPG) at UNESP. Vice-President of the Brazilian Society of Mycology (2000-02) and Microbiology (2006-09). It is part of the consultant of CAPES, FAPESP, FINEP and CNPq and attended the last two triennial evaluations - CAPES program Graduate of the area of Pharmacy. She has experience in Pharmacy with emphasis in Mycology and Cellular Biology, acting on the following topics: fungus-host interaction, molecular epidemiology and bioprospecting of substances and antibodies with antifungal activity. It is group leader of CNPq: fungus-host interaction. Develop projects on the National Institute of Science and Technology for Pharmaceutical Innovation INCT_if. Maintains technical-scientific collaboration with researchers working in the area of cell biology and Mycology from international institutions (National University of Mexico, UNAM; Institute Carlos III, Madrid, Spain; the University of Texas; Institute of Molecular Medicine, Lisbon, Portugal) and from national (UFG, UFRGS, USP, UFPe, UFRGN) and UNESP. She is currently Research vice-rector of UNESP and member of the Board of FAPESP. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
