Ana Carolina de Souza Chagas holds a degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF, 1996), a masters degree in Behavior and Ecology of Zooparasites (UFJF, 1999) and PhD in Animal Science from the Veterinary School of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2001). She is a researcher at the Embrapa Southeast Livestock Research (Embrapa CPPSE). Has experience in the field of Veterinary Parasitology: Rhipicephalus tick (Boophilus) microplus; gastrointestinal nematodes of small ruminants; phytotherapy; nanostructured formulations based on plant molecules, selective parasitic control (TST); anti-hemintic resistance. It has 5 registered technological products. It was recognized in the 94th (2022) and 92nd (2023) position of the Ranking Research Gate of the best scientists in the field of Veterinary and Animal Science in the world. She is the supervisor of the Postgraduate Course in Veterinary Sciences at UNESP, Jaboticabal Campus. Conducts training of students and professionals in in vitro techniques for evaluation of natural and synthetic products on gastrointestinal nematodes learned at the Moredun Research Institute, Scotland, and the University of Geogia, USA. Visiting Scientist in 2023 at the Instituto Superior de Agronomia, University of Lisbon, in Proteomics applied to the study of sheep resistance to infection by Haemonchus contortus.
