Ana Carolina de Souza Chagas holds a degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF, 1996), a master's degree in Behavior and Ecology of Zooparasites (UFJF, 1999) and a PhD in Animal Science from the Veterinary School of the Federal University of Minas Gerais. (2001). She is a researcher at the Southeast Livestock Research Center (Embrapa Pecuária Sudeste - CPPSE). She has experience in the field of Veterinary Parasitology: Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus tick; gastrointestinal nematodes of small ruminants; phytotherapy; nanostructured formulations based on plant molecules, targeted selective treatment (TST); anthelmintic resistance. She has registered 5 technological products and recognized at the 94th position of the Research Gate Ranking 2022 of the best scientists in the Veterinary and Animal Science field in the world. She is advisor in the Post-Graduate Course in Veterinary Sciences at UNESP Campus Jaboticabal. She trains students and professionals in In vitro Techniques for the Evaluation of Natural and Synthetic Products on Gastrointestinal Nematodes, learned at Moredun Research Institute, Scotland, and at University of Georgia, USA.
