Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia e Inovação (Brasil). Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE)  (Institutional affiliation from the last research proposal)
Birthplace: Brazil

I received my PhD in Astronomy from the University of São Paulo (1996). I completed my Master's Degree in the same area and university in 1991. My BS was in Astronomy at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in 1989. I conducted a post-doctorate at the University of Central Lancashire (England, 2007-2008). I also did a post-doctoral stage in the National Observatory (Rio de Janeiro, 1996-1997). I now provide advice to the CNPq and FAPESP, and I am a reviewer of the journals RBEF (SBF) and RELEA. I am a researcher at the Astrophysics Division (DAS) of the National Institute for Space Research (INPE). I have pursued research on chemical abundances in solar-type stars, and stellar populations in elliptical and lenticular galaxies, with field observation techniques in optical spectroscopy. I have also published and presented around forty works about these subjects since my BS/PhD. I have been admitted as Active Member of the IAU (Division G Stars and Stellar Physics). I am currently the Coordinator of Graduate Course of Astrophysics of INPE/MCTI, and I have also been from February 2014 until November 2016. I am also responsible for outreach activities, teaching and research at the Astronomical Miniobservatory of DAS/INPE of which I was one of the creators and founders. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
