Graduate in Civil Engineering at the Federal University of Ouro Preto (1988), M.Sc. in Civil Engineering at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1991) and PhD in Civil Engineering - Environmental Geotechnics at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1998). Researcher at INPE (National Institute of Space Research) since 2009, working soil hydrology and soil ecology, with emphasis on field observations of soil-plant-atmosphere interaction and impacts resulting from climate change, land-use changes and extreme climate events. Currently is a professor at PGCST (Post-Graduation Course in Earth System Science) from INPE. Coordinates the Laboratory of Isotopic Ecohydrology (LabEcoh) of the CCST / INPE. Member of ISMC (International Soil Modeling Consortium). Main research areas: soil-plant-atmosphere interaction, ecohydrology and ecosystem services of water and climate regulation in different Brazilian biomes. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
