He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), Salvador, Bahia, Brazil (2003-2009), a Masters in Genetics and Molecular Biology from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Campinas, São Paulo, Brazil (2010-2012 ) and PhD in Functional and Molecular Biology at UNICAMP (2012-2016) with a sandwich period in Bioenergy and Biomass at the University of Copenhagen, Frederiksberg, Denmark (2015-2016). He was (2016-2021) a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Sorocaba (UNISO), Sorocaba, São Paulo, Brazil and also at the Postdoctoral Research Program - PPPD in the Department of Biochemistry and Tissue Biology of the Institute of Biology at UNICAMP, (2017-) with a sandwich period as Associate Post Doctoral Researcher at the Department of Chemistry at York University, York, United Kingdom (2017-2018). Nowadays (2022 -), he is a Research Fellow in Biochemistry of LPMOs at the Department olf Chemistry from the University of York, United Kingdom. Since 2009, he has been an enthusiastic researcher of studies in genetics and biochemistry of the digestive physiology of several species of termites that occur in the Brazilian territory, mainly of the main pest species in the State of São Paulo, Coptotermes gestroi, with a focus on redox enzymes, such as SOD, AKR, and LPMOs. He also has experience in functional and structural characterization of carbohydrates-active enzymes or CAZymes (cellulases, hemicellulases) of microbial origin (fungi and bacteria) and from insects, as well as with the biology of fungi during the degradation of lignocelluloses.
