Graduation at Electric Engineering from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (1990), master's (1997) and doctorate (2005) at Electric Engineering from Universidade de São Paulo. Post-Doctorate at Linkoping University (2009) and University of Sheffield (2010). He is currently assistant professor at the University of São Paulo (USP) with the School of Arts, Sciences and Humanities (EACH). Coordinates in the University of Sao Paulo the Laboratory of Audio and Music Technologies (LATM) and the Audio Engineering and Coding Center (NEAC) at the Laboratory of Integrable Systems (LSI-EPUSP). He is also a collaborative researcher with the Interdisciplinary Center in Interactive Technologies (CITI), with the Center for Research in Sonology (NuSom) and with the Laboratory of Arts, Media and Digital Technologies (LabArteMidia) at USP. Has experience in engineering and computing, acting on sound and music computing, audio engineering, signal processing, spatial audio, and interactive sound systems. Collaborator of the ISDB-T standardization taskforce. Member of the Audio Engineering Society (AES), of the Computer Music Interest Group of the Brazilian Computer Society (CECM-SBC), and committee member of ABNT (the national standardization body) with the ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 29 working groups (MPEG).
