Graduated from University of São Paulo-USP (Engr School, São Carlos / Faculty of Medicine, Ribeirão Preto), PhD Strathclyde Univ (1988) followed two careers at USP and University of Campinas-UNICAMP: Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor ,1993; Reader 1997 being a full Professor in the Dept of Orthopedics, Fac of Medical Sciences-UNICAMP from 2003 and full Professor in the Dept of Electr Engr-USP since 1998. Coordinates Outpatient rehabilitation clinic for spinal cord injured (University Hospital, UNICAMP, 90 patients a week) on neural stimulation, motor control, paraplegia, tetraplegia, biomechanics, medical instrumentation: and Works in undergrad, postgraduate teaching at USP and UNICAMP (integrated clinical-surgical procedures, electronics, rehabilitation engr) and supervised about 100 undergraduate students with scholarships, many residents in Orthopedics, over 70 Doctoral and MSc theses and postdoc fellows. More than half of all pubmed papers in the Country (Quadriplegia Rehabilitation in Brazil) come from his labs at USP (Biocybernetics Rehab Engr) and UNICAMP (Biomechanics Rehabilitation of the Locomotor System) many papers published in cliquet a or cliquet junior a or cliquet jr a or junior alberto cliquet. Worked at the Heart Institute- São Paulo, Braz Psychodrama Inst and at the Childrens Rehab Centre (AACD-São Paulo). Was Head of Orthopedics Dept-UNICAMP for 4 years (4 as Deputy), Electr Engr-USP 2 years (4 as deputy) and Biomedical Engr Dept-UNICAMP (3 years). Was also the Vice Director of the Centre for Engineering Applied to Health - USP. Currently is the Coordinator of the Post graduate course in Surgical Sciences - UNICAMP. Referees Journals (Spinal Cord, Artificial Organs, Physiological Measur, MedBiolEngrComp, Clinical Biomechanics, Physiological Reports, IEEEs, IEE, Scientificreports-Nature) , examined hundreds MSC/PhD theses and full professorships in Brazil and abroad (UK, USA, Australia).Reviewer Icelandic Research FUnd-IRF, Reviewer MRC-Medical Research Council/UK. Member, Acreditation Committee for Graduate Courses - A3ES, Portugal. Prof.Cliquet is in the Brazilian Health / Engineering Committees (Brasilia) , a founding member of IFESS-IntFunctionalElectricalStimulationSoc, a full member of ISMRM-IntSocfor MagneticResonanceinMedicine , ,member of the AssocforComputerMachinery-ACM and Chief Editor of Braz J Ortopedia e Traumatologia Ilustrada and Assoc Editor of "Acta Ortopedica Brasileira". Editorial Board "Neuroprosthetics" (Frontiers in Neurology and Neurosciences (Lausanne). Awarded 1st and 2nd prizes in Rehabilitation (over 150 candidates) from CNPq-National Council for Science Technology (1997), 2013 Health Prize National Winner (Abril Publisher Brazil) and achieved the highest national level as researcher (#1A) from CNPq (2009). Lately,was an Invited Presenter in Leipzig (ISPO 2010), Keynote Speaker in Rome (Biostec2011), Invited Lecturer in Graz (2013Wien WorkshopinFES), Programme Chair in Angers, France (Biodevices2014), Lisbon (Biodevices 2015) and Madeira Isle -Funchal (Biodevices 2018), being the Organizer/President of the International Annual IFESS Conference (São Paulo 2011).Grants of several million dollars were obtained with FAPESP-State of Sao Paulo Foundation for Reserch.
