Marcos David Ferreira has a degree in Agronomy from University of São Paulo (1986), Master's degree in postharvest physiology from University of Florida (1994), PhD in Plant Engineering from the University of São Paulo (1999) and postdoctoral degree from Texas A & M University 2000). Researcher at Embrapa Instrumentation, São Carlos, SP, in the field of post-harvest vegetable and fruit technology, with emphasis on research for preservation and loss reduction, based on instrumentation applied for harvesting - mobile platforms, sorting and classification, nanotechnology applied in polymer packaging and edible coatings and nondestructive analyzes using infrared spectroscopy and magnetic resonance imaging. Professor accredited in the postgraduate program in food and nutrition of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of UNESP, Campus Araraquara, SP. Author/co-author of more than 100 scientific articles published in specialized journals with 5 patents submitted, and two products licensed on the market. Editor of 3 books and participated in 19 book chapters. He supervised 15 master's students, 7 doctoral students and more than a hundred in scientific initiation.
