Edson Roberto Minatel finished his doctorate at USP (IFSC-2003) after graduation (1993) and master degree (1997) in Computer Science at the Federal University of São Carlos. He has been working since 1996 in research and development of advanced processes and useful tools with focus on Business Intelligence in multisectorial scope using Digital Image Processing techniques, Computer Graphics and Computer Vision. He has practical experience and systemic knowledge about the process for create and manage technology-based business. He was responsible for structuring companies like Ablevision, X-Factory and WhitePix, from the conceptual level and business plans until the implementation and improvement of production processes and also the commercial and marketing strategies. He developed and applied viable methodologies for management and implementation of high complexity projects. In the industrial area, Minatel developed systems applied to support production and quality improvements. He had created the Virtual Poka-Yoke technology - a line of innovative solutions (hardware and software) for autonomation visual inspections to guarantee industrial processes. This technology has strong impact on reducing production times and costs, solving critical problems inherent to the phases of training and monitoring of activities of employees. In marketing intelligence, he created a line of interactive solutions that promote new consumer experiences while they monitor their behavior. Nowadays he develops an intelligent factory model - the X-FACTORY - in order to enable the Productive Inclusion and improve the competitiveness of the industrial sector. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
