Has a degree in Biology from Universidade de São Paulo (1999), master's at Ecology from Universidade de São Paulo (2002) and doctorate at Ecology from Universidade de São Paulo (2007). He is currently associate professor at the University of Sao Paulo, FFCL-RP USP, Brazil. Adviser of master's and doctorate students in Ecology in UFBA and of the program of Entomology of FFCLRP-USP. Holds a postdoctoral degree in Ecology and Biomonitoring - ECOBIO from the Federal University of Bahia (2008-2009). Has a research internship at the Helmholtz Institut für Umweltforschung - UFZ (Center for Environmental Research), Leipzig - Germany, 2006. Is president of IALE-BR, Brazilian chapter of the International Association of Landscape Ecology (IALE) and Council Chairman for IALE. Has experience in the field of Ecology, with emphasis on Conservation of fragmented landscapes, acting and researching mainly in the areas of Landscape Ecology, Habitat Fragmentation, Ecological Modeling, GIS, Conservation Biology, Pollination and interaction between plants and floral visitors. Has written articles about the relationship between landscape structure and biodiversity in general and more recently about the interplay between landscapes and the structure of plant-floral interaction networks, still with a series of manuscripts on these themes being written or already submitted and currently under revision.
