Undergraduate in Animal Science from the Federal University of Lavras (1985), Master of Science in Aquaculture at the University of Stirling (1990), Ph.D. in Biological Sciences at the State University of Campinas (1999), and Professor in Animal Genetic Resources at USP-Pirassununga (2013). He is a professor at the University of Mogi das Cruzes / SP, where he is the head of the research group in the Laboratory of Genetics of Aquatic Organisms and Aquaculture of the Integrated Center of Biotechnology. He is a member of the Municipal Environmental Council of Mogi das Cruzes city and the National Biosafety Technical Commission (CTNBio/MCTI).
