She graduated in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Goiás, a master's in Freshwater Biology and Inland Fisheries from the National Institute for Amazon Research (INPA), and a PhD in Physiological Sciences from the Federal University of São Carlos.In her PhD, she studied the effect of titanium dioxide nanoparticles (NP-TiO2) on the blood, gills, liver, kidneys, muscle, and brain of fish. In her postdoctoral studies at INPA, she investigated the effect of climate change on genes related to the endocrine regulatory mechanism of appetite and tambaqui metabolism. At the University of Texas at El Paso, she was an affiliated researcher evaluating the presence of polymorphisms in a sedge specie from northern to southern Alaska using the ddRAD (restriction site-associated DNA, double digestion) sequencing technique.He was a professor at the Federal University of Amazonas from 2009-2010 and 2016-2019 and 2021, where he taught the subjects of cell biology, histology, and embryology (Nursing, Pharmacy, Physical Education and Medicine courses), the subjects of human physiology, animal physiology and curricular practice in human physiology (Physiotherapy, Psychology, Dentistry, Medicine, Natural Sciences, Biotechnology and Biological Sciences courses) and metabolism (Biotechnology course - master's degree and doctorate). In 2023, she was a professor at the University of Scranton, where she taught anatomy and physiology (theory and laboratory) to students studying Biological Sciences, Kinesiology, and Nursing.
