Giancarlo Casellato Gozzi

PhD Student in History, Theory and Critique on the Audiovisual Medium and Processes Graduate Program of the School of Communication and Arts, University of São Paulo, with the research project "The Fall of the American Dream: melodrama, realism, and historical interpretation in Mad Men". Master by the School of Communication and Arts, University of São Paulo, with the dissertation "The Advantage of Amorality: Melodrama, political commentary, and interacting with the audience in House of Cards", financed by FAPESP. He was a Visiting Scholar at the School of the Arts, Columbia University, during the Spring Term, 2018, with a BEPE-FAPESP scholarship. Graduated in Social Sciences by the Philosophy, Literature and Humanities College, University of São Paulo. While an undergraduate, he did a Undergraduate Research, titled "Staging, Cinema and Television", financed by CNPq, at the School of Communication and Arts, University of São Paulo (from 2014 to 2015). He was also part, as an undergraduate researcher, of the research project "Political Institutions, Executive-Legislative Interaction Patterns and Capacity of Governance", financed by FAPESP, at the Brazilian Center of Analysis and Planning (from 2011 to 2012). Researches serial television narratives, focusing on narrative structures and serial dramaturgy. Has experience in Arts, with emphasis in Audiovisual Critique. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
