Pharmaceutical Chemist graduated from the National University of Colombia (2006). PhD in Immunology from the University of São Paulo (2016). Visiting Fellow at the National Cancer Institute - National Institutes of Health (2014 - 2016). Defended the doctorate thesis entitled ''Natural Killer Cells in the modulation of cellular immunity in humans'', developed in the Laboratory of Tumor Immunology advised by Prof. Dr. José Alexandre M. Barbuto, São Paulo, SP - Brazil, and in the Laboratory of Experimental Immunology advised by Dr. Giorgio Trinchieri, Bethesda MD - USA. Besides her main research, she also investigated the usefulness of monocyte-derived dendritic cells as a strategy to monitor the immune function of kidney cancer patients before, during and after treatments and collaborated in projects focused in the development of immunomodulatory drugs with antitumor potential. Currently specializes in System Biology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and develops her postdoctoral research investigating modulatory mechanisms of the immune response for the rational design of novel immunotherapies against cancer.
