Sérgio F. Pascholati has a B.Sc. degree in Biological Sciences from São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho - UNESP - (1976), a Master degree in Functional and Molecular Biology from State University of Campinas - UNICAMP - (1980) and a Doctorate in Botany and Plant Pathology - Purdue University, USA ( 1983). He holds a Post-Doctor training in Phytopathological Physiology/Biochemistry at Purdue University (1991-1992) and a specialization in the same area at the Technical University of Munich, Germany (1984). He held the position of Head of the Department of Phytopathology and Nematology at Esalq/USP, President of the Postgraduate Committee and Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Phytopathology at Esalq/USP. He held the position of Full Professor at Esalq/University of São Paulo (USP) until 2020. He was President of the Latin American Association of Phytopathology, Brazilian Society of Phytopathology and Director of Paulista Association of Phytopathology. Has experience in Agronomy, with an emphasis in Phytopathology, acting on the following subjects: plant pathology physiology and biochemistry, resistance induction and biological control of phytopathogens. He currently holds the position of Senior Professor at Esalq/USP, in addition to being the CEO and founding partner of the startup Ideelab Biotecnologia located in the Núcleo do Parque Tecnológico de Piracicaba.
