Norberto Peporine Lopes is a Pharmacist, Master in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Doctor in Chemistry from USP and Titular member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences. He is currently a Full Professor at FCFRP-USP, coordinator of the Natural and Synthetic Products Research Nucleus and of the Organic Micromolecules Mass Spectrometry Center. In his unit, he held several elective positions, including the Head of the Department of Physics and Chemistry and the Presidency of the Research Committee. He was a member of the Advanced Studies Group at USP at the Ribeirão Preto Campus and of the Management Committee of the Supera Parque Technological Park. Prof. Lopes currently holds the position of Coordinator of the Ribeirão Preto Hub at INOVA-USP (Innovation Center of the University of São Paulo).He is an associate member of the Brazilian Society of Pharmaceutical Sciences, the Society of Mass Spectrometry (BrMass), the Brazilian Society of Chemistry (SBQ), the Brazilian Society of Pharmacognosy. He is also a member of the American Chemical Society, Society for Medicinal Plant and Natural Product Research (GA) and Fellow of the Royal Society Chemistry. He has held the elective positions at SBQ of President, President-elect, Member of the Advisory Board, Member and President of the Supervisory Board, General Secretary, Treasurer, Deputy Director and Treasurer of the Natural Products Division. At BrMAss he held the position of Financial Director and Member of the Advisory Board. He held short-term internships in Germany (University of Tunbigen), United States of North America (Washington State University) and United Kingdom (University of Bristol). He developed his Post-Doctorate in Mass Spectrometry of Natural Products at the University of Cambridge (UK) and served as Visiting Professor in Mass Spectrometry at the University of Muenster. He has published more than 470 scientific articles (HI = 45) and received 10 awards, including the BrMASS Medal, the SBQ's Fernando Galembeck Innovation Award and the Jeremy Knowles Award from the Royal Society of Chemistry. He is currently Editor of Rapid Communication in Mass Spectrometry (Wiley), Plant Medicine (GA) and Scientific Reports (Nature Publishing Group) and OMEGA-ACS (American Chemical Society). He works in the areas of Natural Products Chemistry and Mass Spectrometry. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
