Abstract

This thesis aims to analyze the configurations of lesbianities produced by the works “Eu sou uma lésbica”, “Uma mulher diferente” and “As traças”, by Cassandra Rios and their effects in terms of production and intelligibility of lesbian bodies. We understand that the literature produced by the author is organized around forces that sometimes underpin and sometimes destabilize the existence of a stable lesbian identity. The first chapter proposes to offer an overview of the trajectory of Cassandra Rios and also the oppositions, criticisms and persecutions that accompanied her literary career. The second chapter presents the ethicalpolitical assumptions that underlie the research. We start from the understanding that the norms that organize systems of oppression such as: racism, sexism, LGBTphobia, also support the academic writing policies in force in our contexts. The third chapter intends to give substance to the questioning about the potencies that sexual dissidences can promote in relation to the destabilization of knowledge produced by psychology. It proposes to think of lesbianities as a possible place from which to question gender norms. Finally, the last chapter focuses on the machinery built and operated by Cassandra Rios in relation to the configurations of lesbianities produced in the selected novels and the effects produced both in terms of displacements of already consolidated places and of the support of places of hegemony.
