Abstract

The research plan hereafter presented has as its main goal to strengthen previous studies on the Deleuzean theory of signs, especially in view of its parts whose credits Deleuze explicitly owes to Peirce's Semiotics and Phenomenology. The more particular goal is to extend those studies towards some issues on Peirce's metaphysical writings, assuming that a flow runs between Phenomenology and Metaphysics within Peircean Architectonics. Although Deleuze did not leave his footprints in this important Peircean field, I tend to think that some subjects in the Deleuzean theory of signs points out connections and/or pleads resources which open way to the Peirce metaphysician on Ontology and Cosmology. I shall bring out this argument dividing this plan of study in two sections. In the first one I summarize the four lines of my previous studies on Deleuze's theory of signs and its relation to Peirce's Semiotics and Phenomenology. In the second section my attempt is to show the ongoing state of my studies and the perspectives they launch to the immediate future. The latter section shall carry out some considerations upon the major philosophical problem or concept of continuity, which will consistently spin around the field defined by the concepts of law/thought/habit; meaning/sense; and relation/relationship/hecceity. Along with this aim the project shall be limited by some significant chronological marks, in order to limit the wide and complex range of Peirces and Deleuzes philosophies. (AU)
