Abstract This project deals with to characterize the thermochronological evolution of the metamorphic terrain located at Pitangui region, Quadrilatero Ferrífero, Minas Gerais. In this work petrographic and geochronological studies will be applied in order to define the thermochronological evolution curves, the regional cooling rates and the relation between the metamorphic process and gold mineralizations which occurs in the same area. The geochronological work consists of K-Ar, Rb-Sr e Sm-Nd techniques applied to mineral concentrated, like biotite, garnet and plagioclase as well as whole rock samples. | |
