Serologic inquiries have been demonstrated that there are so many species including wild species in the epidemiological of different issues like leptospirosis, brucelosis, toxoplasmosis, leishmaniasis, and others. The studies involving these aspects are so rare. The importance of realize the inquiry of anti-Leptospira and anti-Toxoplasma gondii antibodies in captivity coatimundi (Nasua nasua) will allow the social and academic conscientization and the paper of this animals in the environmental and the capacity of transmission these issues. The objective of this study is investigated the anti-Leptospira and anti-Toxoplasma gondii antibodies in captivity coatimundi (Nasua nasua), from sera of these animals, to search leptospirosis and toxoplasmosis, looking for the participation of this specie in the epidemiological chain. One of the important things is the worry with people that board these animals because the transmission of the diseases is the direct contact and, in the leptospirosis, indirect contact through the environment contamination. The data will be discussed and control and prophylactic ways will be suggested. The study will show the importance of monitoring the serology in this kind of environment for epidemiological and sanitary actions.
