Abstract

The technical analysis of oil is a type of predictive maintenance, made by collecting some oil from an equipment, analyzing it later or analyzing it in directly and by a continuous systems "online".In internal combustion engines all the pieces have a useful previously established life, with greater or less duration, according to the specific role assigned to them. Functions, which in normal operation, meet the expectations set. For the analysis of the oil itself can monitor the conditions of these pieces. The analysis of oils can identify the first signs of wear and tear of a component. The identification is made from the study of the amount of particles, size, shape and composition of those present in the samples of lubricant, which provides an accurate information on the conditions of the areas in motion without the need to disassemble the set which these parties belong. The solid particles are generated by the dynamic friction between the parts in contact at all. According to the study of these particles it can link the situations of attrition for the set and assign them to chemical and physical conditions. The analysis of the oil is made by means of laboratory techniques involving reagents, instruments and equipment. In order to study the predictive maintenance on internal combustion engines, a theoretical study will be done on the engines, on the lubricants, about the problems and possible causes associated with these failures on the types of predictive maintenance applied to them and work on dealing in predictive maintenance of engines made by other authors. In order to assist the studies will be proposed the construction of a bench composed of four tests of internal combustion engines, four times, the diesel, 10HP. It will be used lubricating oil recommended by the manufacturer of the engine and other kind of oil with different specifications.
