Abstract

Introduction: The Automated Telephone Disease Management (ATDM) Satisfaction Scales instrument, developed in English, consists of 11 items that assess the satisfaction of adults with diabetes Mellitus (DM), after participating in educational programs or intervention by telephone. Objectives: Translate, make the cultural adaptation of the Brazilian version of the ATDM Satisfaction Scales and assess the reliability of the adapted version in Brazilian adults with DM. Methods: Methodological study, whose adaptation process cultural included: translation, expect committee, back-translation, semantic analysis and pre-test. The study counted with a sample of 39 Brazilian adults with DM in an educational programme participating at São Paulo state. Results: The adapted version on instrument revealed good acceptance, which participants considered having items of easy understanding, with reliability ranging from 0.30 to 0.43. Conclusion: After analysis of the psychometric properties and completion of the validation process in the country, the instrument will become available to Brazilian researchers, enabling be compared with other cultures.
