Abstract

This research project aims to study the feasibility case of using X-rays produced by plasma laser from high power ultrafast table-top laser to in vitro phase contrast mammography. The generation of X-rays from lasers is part of a larger collaboration project between our group and scientists from the laser community at the IFGW-UNICAMP, CLA-IPEN and the French laboratory LOA in Paris. The activities of the student will guide her to a promising new area at the frontier of science where the use of phase contrast radiography and laser based X-rays could result in interesting medical applications.
