Abstract

The choice of the appropriate tool for a specific operation and the correct determination of machining process conditions, represent an important part on metal works, being a determinant factor of the tool-machine evolution and cutting tools. Such fact increases itself on the serial production, where divergences on choosing tools and cutting speed can cause remarkable variations on manufacture costs. The machining process of Ti-6Al-4V yelds are expensive and the application growth on many engineering areas motivates some analysis realization about machining process conditions optimization , for example, cutting fluids for wear and damage tool reducing and increase production. It appears then new concepts, like machining with minimal amount of lubrificant (MQL), once a time this fluids represent a great part of final cost of the piece, like costs consequences with maintenance and discart. One of the main factors that influence on the final state of the workpiece, beyond machining process conditions, is the form and amount of fluids application in the process. It comes even more obvious when we ask for cost with cutting fluids in the productive sector, estimated around 17% of production costs. The proposed work aims the study of the (MQL) utilization influence, for the machining process optimization of the Ti-6Al-4V yeld, giving real increases of production and environment benefits. (AU)
