The project proposes the study of selected granite samples from the Mandira Massif, Graciosa Province of "A-type" granites and syenites, Southern region of the São Paulo State. The objective is the analysis of representative samples of the main rock varieties of the massif, emphasizing the textural and micro-structural relationships between the mafic and accessory minerals and their chemical compositional variations through time. The main tools to be used are optical microscopy, electron microscopy (BSE imaging), and electron microprobe analysis(energy and wavelength dispersion spectroscopy, EDS and WDS).The results will allow the identification of mineral crystallization sequences and the quantification of mineral compositional variations, as well as the calculation of intensive crystallization parameters and the evaluation of the sin-, late- and post-magmatic evolutionary paths of the host rocks. The later will be compared with those recognized in other plutons from the province.
