Abstract The research project intends to introduce the student to the concept of soliton and of integrable field theories, with an emphasis on their applications in non-perturbative aspects of field theories of physical interest, like those describing the fundamental interactions of Nature. We will study exact methods for the construction of soliton solutions and conserved chages based on the zero curvature equation. The project will give the student a solid education to pursue post-graduate studies in the areas of field theory and non-linear phenomena. | |
