Quality corn silage inoculated with microbial additive and their effects on intake and performance of lambs

Abstract

The aim this research will be to evaluate the effect of heterofermentative microbial inoculant with or without a homofermentative on the fermentation and aerobic stability of corn silage,performance and nutrient intake of lambs fed these silages inoculated. Thus, there will be two phases. In phase 1, will be prepared silages inoculated with heterofermentative microbial additives with or without a homofermentative, be determined of dry matter (DM) loss held by gas during fermentation, chemical composition and nutritional value, as well as the DM levels , ammonia, organic acids, pH and counts of yeasts and molds during aerobic stability of silage. In phase 2, be evaluated the intake and performance of lambs fed only corn silage inoculated with additives of phase 1.
