Abstract Juvenil Myoclonic Epilepsy (JME) is a subtype of the group of Idiopathic Generalized Epilepsy that does not present apparent abnormalities on conventional Magnetic Resonance Imaging.However, proton Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (MRS) studies revealed conflicting metabolic alterations, especially regarding the decrease of marker N-acetyl aspartate (NAA) in the frontal lobe of patients.Considering this, this project aims to extend this study, using the technique of MRS with multi-voxel , which allows greater spatial extent of the analysis of the tissue involved, and applying a long time of echo (TE=135ms), which provides better quantification of metabolites . | |
