Abstract Ketamine, a dissociative anesthetic induces analgesia and catleptoid state, has been used to produce equine anesthesia. Xylazine has a sedative, analgesic and muscular relaxant effects in this specie. The propose of this study is evaluate the hemogasometric, analgesic and behavioral effects of SC ketamine in xilazine premedicated horses.
