Abstract

Lipases are valuable enzymes for the food, cosmetics, pharmaceutical and environmental control industrial sectors, where their applications include the catalysis of hydrolysis, esterification, acidolysis, aminolysis, among other reactions. Currently, such proteins are mostly obtained from microbiological sources, whose production requires the use of different downstream processes for the separation and purification of the biocatalyst, such as filtration, centrifugation, precipitation and chromatography. Such steps impact not only the production rate bur mainly the cost of the global process, representing up to 80% of the commercial value of these proteins. Therefore, it is understood that the development of simple and low-cost techniques for the separation and purification of lipases brings together academic and industrial relevance. Therefore, this project proposes the study of the use of the enzyme immobilization by physical adsorption technique , a simple and low-cost method, on different supports, as a low-cost step for the purification of lipases of microbial origin.
