Abstract

The main focus of the proposal is the development of research directed to the assessment of indicators of public policies in food and nutrition, particularly referring to food insecurity indicators, through the Brazilian Scale of Food Insecurity (Escala Brasileira de Insegurança Alimentar, EBIA). The study comprises statistical analysis of data from the Health Survey of São Paulo city (Inquérito de Saúde do município de São Paulo, ISA-Capital), conducted between 2023 and 2024, cross-sectional population-based survey with probabilistic sampling of individuals living in households within São Paulo city. The assessment of determinants of conditions for food access and consumption in households of São Paulo city will allow mapping and identification of factors conditioning individuals exposure to food insecurity. Furthermore, the investigation of elements of public policy agenda-setting regarding the fight to hunger and promotion of food and nutrition security in São Paulo will support the design and the proposal of public policies programs directed to reduction of the population vulnerability in the post-pandemic context.
